INFORMATION COLLECTION AND MANAGEMENT

Wealth Depot® may collect and hold personal information such as a person’s name, address, date of birth, income, tax file number (TFN) and other such information that may be required from time to time in order to provide services to our clients. This is collected directly from our clients through taking instructions, completing or reviewing “fact find” forms, calls and emails. We may also collect personal information from you in the course of your use of our website if you input any personal information.
Any personal information held by Wealth Depot may be held in a number of ways, for example:

  • Hard copy
  • Soft copy
  • Offsite on electronic servers

Any personal information collected by Wealth Depot® is solely for the purpose of providing services to its clients and is not disclosed unless the disclosure is required in the performance of those services (for example, a financial adviser disclosing a client’s information to a financial institution in order to place an investment on behalf of that client).

SECURITY & PROTECTION OF DATA

Wealth Depot ® take steps to ensure the security of all client personal information. These steps vary depending on the situation. However, some practical steps that are applicable include:

  • Personal information stored on a computer or hard drive that is password protected and not available on a public network.
  • Personal information stored in hard copy that is kept in a lockable cabinet.
  • Personal information that has been obtained, is destroyed using a shredder or de-identified once it is no longer required. (Please note that there are certain obligations imposed that require client information to be retained for a certain period of time.)
  • Security access to our offices
  • Staff training on the importance of client confidentiality and the security of client information

USE & DISCLOSURE OF DATA

Wealth Depot ® collect and uses the data in a variety of ways;

  • To give you information about a product or service
  • To provide and maintain our services to you
  • To notify you about any changes to our service or products supplied to you
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our service when you choose to do so
  • To provide customer support
  • To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our services including our website and online channels
  • To monitor the usage of our service
  • To provide you with news and general information about other services and events which we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about unless you have opted not to receive such information

If personal information has been collected for a primary purpose, Wealth Depot ® will not use or disclose the information for another purpose unless:

  • The client consents to the use or disclosure of the information; or
  • the use or disclosure of the information is required or authorised by or under an Australian law or a court/tribunal order

In the event a member of Wealth Depot ® collects personal information and provides it to a related body corporate (e.g. outsourced paraplanning service); then the paraplanning service’s primary purpose for collecting information will be treated as the same primary purpose as the adviser.

OUR WEBSITE

You are able to visit our website without providing any personal information. We will only collect personal information through our websites with your prior knowledge, for example; where you submit an enquiry or application online. Email addresses are only collected if you send us a message and will not be automatically added to a mailing list.

LINKS TO OTHER SITES

Our services may contain links to other sites that are not operated by Wealth Depot ®. We strongly recommend that you review all privacy policies on third party sites at all times. Wealth Depot ® take no responsibility to the content and services offered on third party sites.

MARKETING

If you wish to unsubscribe from any direct marketing at any point, you can click on the ‘unsubscribe’ link located on the bottom of our general newsletters or specialised client program information. Should the client have any problems removing themselves from our direct marketing the client can contact Wealth Depot ® directly and ask to be taken off. We will ensure the client is removed as requested in a timely manner.

Analytics

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Services.

Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

Behavioral Remarketing

Wealth Depot ® uses remarketing services to advertise on third party websites to you after you visited our website. We and our third-party vendors use cookies to inform, optimize and serve ads based on your past visits to our website.

ACCESS & CORRECTION OF DATA

Wealth Depot ® take steps to ensure that all personal data collected is accurate, up to date and complete. Therefore, Wealth Depot ® seek to regularly update the personal information of its clients.
Any client may seek access to their personal information by contacting Wealth Depot® directly. If a correction is required to that personal information the client may make that amendment by notifying Wealth Depot ® and we will endeavour to correct the personal data in a timely manner. Wealth Depot ® also take reasonable steps to ensure that any personal information held by third parties (provided by Hunter Green Pty Ltd) are also corrected.
If access to personal information is refused, then Wealth Depot will inform the individual in writing that sets out why access was refused and how an individual is able to lodge a complaint about the refusal.

ANONYMITY

If you have general enquiry type question you can choose to act anonymously. However due to the nature of the financial services industry, it is unlikely that it would be practical for services to be provided to those clients without them having identified themselves. Further, in most situations Wealth Depot ® will be required under the terms of the Anti-Money Laundering and CounterTerrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth) (AML/CTF Act) to appropriately identify clients.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

This Policy will be reviewed at least annually or as changing circumstances warrant.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
